Kevin Krauss

Kevin Krauss

Kevin Krauss  is beginning his final year as a law student at the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Kevin has always had a desire to affect positive change in the world and ever since participating in a summer study abroad law program in Kenya, he has been involved in International Law at Widener and has had numerous opportunities to serve the student legal population. Last summer, Kevin was a Project Fellow for the International Court of Justice Jurisdiction Project, a legal policy initiative to broaden the Advisory Jurisdiction of the ICJ. He is a two-time Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Competitor – this past year while simultaneously serving as Coach, Agent, and Of-Counsel. He was also elected President of Widener’s Chapter of the International Law Society for the 2011-12 school year, and oversaw a doubling of the active membership; ILS is now one of the top organizations on campus and was awarded the “Most Improved Student Organization” award. ILS’ most noteworthy accomplishment, though, was the tremendously successful campus discussion on Nuclear Nonproliferation with a former Plenipotentiary U.S. Ambassador, Thomas Graham, Jr. (a video and short write-up of the event is available). Kevin’s work with the Ambassador and other international legal arms control groups has led to rewarding outcomes – Kevin was the inaugural recipient of the Craig C. Eisendrath Student Peace Award. This summer, Kevin has also been selected as the Global Law Extern for two separate civil society organizations on arms control and disarmament: The Global Security Institute and the Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy. Kevin has also recently been elected, by law student chapters around the world, as the incoming Student President for the global organization, the International Law Students Association.
