“Adapting the First Amendment to the Changing World of Journalism”

Dean Smolla will speak in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom for a National Sunshine Week program presented by Delaware Press Association and Delaware Coalition for Open Government.

As the way journalists report news, and the public consumes it, evolves at a breathtaking pace, the words of the First Amendment remain unchanged from their adoption 225 years ago.  Dean Smolla will explore the cherished American rights presented by the First Amendment, and how it adapts in our use of modern communication channels.
