Commencement Ceremony Information

In celebration of the achievements of the graduates of 2020 and 2021, the commencement ceremony will be held in multiple mini ceremonies throughout the day on Friday, May 14, 2021 on the lawn in front of Geesey House and Polishook Hall. Graduates will receive their scheduled commencement time by email before April 23, 2021. All graduates and guests will be required to wear a mask at all times.

Guests will be limited to two per graduate and will require a ticket for seating. Guests will be seated by graduate family in pairs of two. Seating will be first-come, first-served. Saving seats prior to the ceremony by marking chairs is prohibited; any signs on chairs will be removed. The ceremony will be live broadcast online for family and friends who will not be able to attend in-person.

Tobacco-Free Campus

Widener University has adopted a Tobacco-Free Policy on all campuses. Use of any tobacco product is prohibited on campus.

Security Policy: No Backpacks, Large Purses, Bags. Etc., at Graduation

The safety of our students, staff, faculty, and guests is important. We ask that all graduates and their guests refrain from bringing bags, backpacks, large purses, or containers to the commencement ceremony. Please leave these items at home or in your vehicle. For the safety and security of our community, Campus Safety officers may search bags and containers that are brought to graduation. Please do not leave your belongings unattended at any time. Report any unattended bags or suspicious packages to a Campus Safety officer. These security precautions are for your protection.
