Dean Ammons Responds to Racial Slurs

Posted by admin on October 11, 2009  |  No Comments

As you may or may not know, some unknown culprit has etched racist slurs  into the men’s bathroom stall last week.   The Dean has responded with a letter calling attention to the importance of diversity in education and its necessary acceptance in our school.  Have our constitutional law and equal protection classes failed in providing a framework for understanding racial issues and complexities? Are the future lawyers of America no longer influenced by the pursuit of civil rights and social justice as they have been in the past?  Or was this heinous act simply a result of Widener’s open door policy to outside visitors using our libraries and facilities? Tell us your thoughts, concerns and comments by submitting a blurb below.

Submissions for Publication Review to Resume May 15

Posted by Jody Roselle on May 10, 2009  |  No Comments

WJLER has suspended review of all submissions for publication until May 15, when the Widener School of Law final exam period has terminated. The Editorial Board has received an overwhelming number of submissions since the law school final exam period began and we will have suspended review of all submissions. Please be advised that means all expedited review requests will not be considered at this time. However, we will honor withdrawal requests submitted by submitting authors.

The Editorial Board would also like to encourage any prospective authors to read our manuscript guidelines page as that contains basic criteria we use in consideration of submissions we receive.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
