Widener Law School Holds Diversity Pipeline Mock Trial Competition.

The Student Bar Association of Widener Law School’s Delaware Campus held the annual Diversity Pipeline Mock Trial Competition on Saturday April 10, 2010. Diversity Pipeline Mock Trial 6 American Bar Association LSD Representative, Marie Hobson, (Class of 2010) organized the event with 2010-2011 SBA President, Damiano del Pino and other members of the 2009-2010 SBA board. Students from area colleges and universities including Philadelphia University, Wilmington University, Temple University, Georgian Court College, and others participated in the civil mock trial, which focused on a wrongful death claim. Several students from Widener’s Delaware campus served as witnesses, coaches, bailiffs, scorekeepers, organizers and judges.

During the lunch break, college students heard from law students about campus life, surviving your first year in law school and how best to prepare for law school while in college.  The competition took place at Widener’s Delaware campus and awards and prizes were distributed in Widener’s Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom. Prizes were awarded for Best Opening, Best Closing, Best Overall Team, Best Advocate, Best Witness and Most Professional. Josh Inkell, 2010-2011 ABA / LSD Representative for the Student Bar Association will be coordinating the 2011 Diversity Pipeline Mock Trial Competition which will be held in the Spring 2011.
