Update on H1N1 Flu for May 5, 2009

The number of cases of H1N1 flu continues to rise in the United States and around the world. There are 380 confirmed cases in 36 states in the US. Delaware is now reporting 20 confirmed cases and 6 probable cases. Pennsylvania is reporting 1 confirmed case and 7 probable cases in counties around the state.

The presentation of the flu in this country appears to be mild, but the CDC continues to work to contain the spread of the H1N1 flu.
Handwashing, social distancing covering a cough are still the recommended ways to avoid the flu. Individuals with symptoms are advised to seek advice from their health care provider.
